California lifetime very well preserved and fully documented 126 example that was originally purchased at Gregg Motors Mercedes-Benz of Santa Barbara. With 2 owners since 1988, it has a book of service history. We have a clean Carfax documenting miles, services, emissions and dates of service / registrations. 

The body is straight as an arrow having never been hit and never been painted still wearing its original black factory paint. Other than normal wear, minor scratches and blemishes to be expected with age, the original factory paint still shows nice deep shine. Every body panel has the original VIN tag in place. We had the bumpers refinished upon acquisition to bring back the original fresh look. All original MB glass all around. Still retains original issue CA license plates.

We are super keen on this palomino leather interior that’s been kept out of heavy west coast sunshine. That can easily be seen with the original unblemished leather dash pad, near perfect wood consul and excellent door cards. Original carpet throughout the interior still has vibrant color. Headliner is excellent. Equipped with 2 way power sunroof.

AC is fully operational, through all vents, on all speeds and blows cold.

The engine bay is ultra clean and very tidy trunk.

Still retains its AM/FM Becker Cassette radio that sounds great. 

Wears 15 inch Gullideckel alloy factory finish wheels with correctly sized new Michelin tires

A few of the refurbishments done in preparation of sale include new headlamp bezels and a brand new hood pad. A recent service was done by prior ownership addressing brakes, AC and CA Emissions, steering tie rods and fresh oil service and filter.

Drive quality is exceptional on this vehicle and is exactly as Mercedes Benz would have intended it to be with current mileage if you were to follow the Maintenance book to the mark. Equal only to an example with 1/3 the miles, just excellent. I would describe it as an overly serviced example owned and operated by meticulous keepers. A highly compelling reason for our acquisition.

Sold to Mr. John Dodds of Atherton, California on 5/30/87 (still retains 1st owner Mercedes identifying metal plate). Moved to Southern California where it spent most of its life in San Diego and then recently Orange County. Retains original 1987 California “sunshine” issued license plates.

Excellent paint depth and gloss showing consistency on every panel. As evidenced by inspection the original factory paint appears to be all original. MB original glass all around. Every factory MB vin tag located on each body panel is still in place.

Equipped with 2 way factory sunroof.

Clean Carfax available for review showing history, dates and odometer entries.

Grey leather shows nice condition, supple leather still soft with only minor imperfections. Very nice clean carpet. Good crisp doorcards. Dashpad shows a few small cracks.

Professionally restored zebrano wood consul to like new condition.

The Becker Grand Prix is fully operational and working correctly including sound / cassette tape and all functions as we had it refurbished and gone through by specialist.

HVAC system operation works correctly. 134 converted AC system.

Fresh gearshift bushings installed. New fuel accumulator. New hoodpad installed.

Extremely tidy engine bay and trunk. Ultra clean undercarriage.

Superb drive quality, crisp shifting points, strong even acceleration, accurate braking and lovely drive quality in slow traffic and high speed driving. Evident of a well serviced Mercedes 420SEL.

Recently refurbished factory finish 15 inch wheels wrapped in matching correctly sized Michelins.

This wonderful 420SEL was delivered in a less common color scheme of Nautical Blue over Blue Leather. Recently acquired from a multi car collection located on a farm outside Lexington, Kentucky.

We have a clean Carfax available for review.

Nice paint that still shows deep shine and luster.

Original blue dash pad is in excellent condition showing no damage. Good carpet still showing vibrant blue color. Excellent wood on console and trim does show nice deep color. Nice leather showing correct patina soft to touch. An aftermarket stereo was installed by prior ownership, however, the original Becker head unit has been retained. Clear loud sound quality. A new antennae was just installed.

Optioned with 2 direction electric sunroof.

Extensive service history and provenance including services, dates and mileage. It is a fully documented vehicle. Recent major service of timing chain was completed by prior ownership. Excellent drive quality with nice torque and acceleration. Shifting is smooth and clean. Vehicle tracks straight. Braking is responsive. Just had brake fluid flushed and filled with new.

New correctly sized 15 inch tires over stock alloy MB wheels.

Comes with spare, jack, tool roll, and 3 key fobs.
